Our story wasn't born in a boardroom. It began on the water, with a deep, decade-long love for the majestic coastline right here in our backyard of Port Moody. For years, we’ve explored every corner of Indian Arm, feeling a profound connection to its tranquil beauty and the vibrant community of Deep Cove. This place is a core part of who we are.
A Vision Born on a Rainy West Coast Day
Alongside our love for the sea, we’ve always been passionate about the sauna—the simple, powerful therapy of deep heat and the feeling of complete renewal. The idea for Hot Voyage arrived on one of those classic rainy fall afternoons, when the mist hangs low on the mountains and the air carries a deep chill. We were on our boat, mesmerized by the dramatic scenery, and a powerful thought struck us: “Imagine if we could feel this incredible view from a place of deep, bone-warming heat… right now, right here.”
That evening, the idea wouldn't let go. We went online and saw videos of other coastal communities around the world, connected by the shared joy of their local floating sauna. We saw the laughter, the wellness, the connection to nature. We knew instantly that we had to bring that same incredible experience to our own community—for the residents of Greater Vancouver, Indian Arm, and Deep Cove to enjoy. Our mission became clear: to create the ultimate sauna boat for Vancouver.
Building a Uniquely Canadian Dream
This couldn't be just any boat. We envisioned a purpose-built boat sauna, crafted specifically for the Pacific saltwater and designed to honour the rugged landscape. We are incredibly proud that our vessel is a testament to local craftsmanship: it was proudly built in Canada, by Canadians. Its durable hull is made from local aluminum, and its heart—the beautiful, aromatic sauna—is lined with locally sourced West Coast cedar. This is the floating sauna North Vancouver and the entire region deserves.
